Children’s Reading Books

Roald Dahl & Enid Blyton

As a child, I absolutely loved reading. My favourite writers as a child were Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl. Early primary age, I loved reading Roger Hargreaves Mr Men Books and Peter & Jane Books (Ladybird Series), Aesop’s Fables, fairytale classics and many other fairytales.

Anyway, I have tried to spread the love of reading to both my children and I wish that they continue to pursue the interest of reading on their own. Although, it is totally shared and guided reading with them at the moment!

My daughter and I have read

2011 Roald Dahl’s: The Twits, James and the Giant Peach, Fantastic Mr Fox and George’s Marvellous Medicine. Next is Matilda. My daughter has watched the Film and I’d like to see what she makes of the actual book.

Good reading!

I read mainly fantasy, horror and science fiction books. Sherlock Holmes and detective type books. Rudyard Kipling.

Stephen King Horror Books and Michael Crichton books, Robin Cook – physician who wrote great medical thrillers and who expanded my knowledge of the medicine to some extent. Thomas Harris.
